Ben Swank is co-founder and Consigliere for Third Man Records, the signature label launched
by Jack White. Founded in Detroit, Michigan in 2001, Third Man opened its current Nashville,
Tennessee location in 2009 and quickly evolved from a music label into a complete in-house hub
for art-making and dream-chasing. Third Man’s mission is to support the creation and distribution
of any and every form of expression, from music to poetry, fiction to film. Third Man is an
innovator in the world of vinyl records and a boundary pusher in the world of recorded music,
aiming to bring tangibility and spontaneity back into the record business and issue releases that
leave no doubt in the minds of listeners that music is indeed sacred. Swank is also co-founder of
Third Man Books, established with Jack White and Chet Weise in 2014 to further explore the music of language.
